The society
Tourdion is a choral society run by a committee of five members. Members agree to the by-laws and regulations. The members pay a membership fee that is fixed at the annual general meeting. New members are admitted when there are vacancies. When this is the case, you are welcome to join a few rehearsals. In addition, you will have to undergo a simple voice test. If you pass this test, you will be entered as a member. Knowledge of musical notes and symbols is welcome but not required. We are currently looking for basses and tenors.
In order to create and maintain a pleasant atmosphere, we aim at good teamwork. Therefore all tasks are allocated to several committees. These are:
- a Public Relations committee responsible for the organisation and announcement of concerts;
- a catering committee, in charge of refreshments and snacks during concerts, parties, workshops and the like;
- an editorial staff, entrusted with TOUR Magazine, our bulletin full of useful information and hints for members on how to improve their singing;
- 4. and last but not least, a music committee in charge of finding and assessing music for upcoming concerts.
