The conductor
 Since early 2003 Tourdion has been conducted by Joost Doodeman. Joost is an all-round musician whose musical career started at the age of 15 when he became a church organist. For almost 25 years he played the organ in the Laurentius church in Heemskerk. In 1978 he finished his music studies at the Sweelinck Academy in Amsterdam.
Joost Doodeman leads a considerable number of choirs such as for example the Pancratius Church Mixed Choir at Castricum.
At the moment, Joost mainly works with shanty choirs. With these choirs he has participated in international festivals in England, France and Germany. In addition, Joost works as a music therapist in the mental hospital of Dijk & Duin in Castricum and the Heliomare Convalescent Home in Wijk aan Zee.
During rehearsals Joost accompanies the choir at the piano.
